For some reason I have not been able to publish posts here for months, so I started a new blog for us to store our memories. The new address is fletchsketch.blogspot.com.

...for Nauvoo Log Cabins. Here are some of the amenities:

Stairs. (Kids not included.)

Lots of logs, if you like that sort of thing.

Priceless moments, like this first-time viewing of "The Brady Bunch". Laura's now a fan.

History Lessons ("What is this thing, Mom?)

Top-bunk TV viewing (which is why, I suppose, they felt no need to include couches).

A new-found appreciation for the board games left at home.

A full kitchen, complete with crockpot and seasoning salt. (Sorry, Laura. I don't think you have a future on "The Price is Right".)

Rickety wooden things set out for those great photo-ops. (Contrary to what we had thought, color-coordinated clothing and cooperative kids are NOT provided.)

Multi-leveled exploration that will get you nearly as good a reaction from the kids as Disneyland ("Cool! A loft!), at least for the first hour of your stay.

Enticing sleeping quarters away from the parents.

More wierd photo opportunities.

Other photos to help you get a better picture, in case you really are interested.

Looking down from the stairs:

What you see when you walk in the front door:

One of the beds:

A picture of one of the smaller cabins. They come in all shapes and sizes.

Remember to mention the Fletchers if you stay there, and that you found out about the cabins on our blog! Thanks!

(Don't really. Not unless you find out we can get a discount the next time. Then that'd be cool.)

I am glad you showed the front door. I wasn't sold till I saw that beautiful piece of work on hinges.

There's nothing better than a great family vaca. My kids would really love that. If we ever do make it out that way for a weekend getaway, I will remember to bring our board games.

Did you happen to ask them where they purchased that beautiful shower curtain???

We stayed in the same cabin.

And may or may not have broken one of the dishes they so kindly provided.

I hope that Laura's hope and dream is to NOT be on the Price is Right....otherwise you've completely crushed her!

I'm digging that shower curtain, too. Teddy bears are my favorite bathroom decorating scheme . . .
