Laura's TRRFC!

Today we went to Laura's school to watch her get an award for the TRRFC student of the month. (TRRFC is an acronym for...something.) Here's a picture of her in the crowd somewhere:

This is what Isaac thought of the whole thing:
Noelle was just excited to get out of the house:
Steve was in mild agreement with Isaac. (When he asked me how many other kids were getting awards, and I told him that each teacher picks one kid from her class to receive it once a month, he paused and then said, "That means that half the kids in her class will get this award by the end of the year." "Yup," I said. "Well, that's not very special then." "Nope," I said. Except we ARE really proud of Laura who always works her hardest!)
Here's Laura, sporting her cool TRRFC award, or uh, dog tags:

I am glad at least one person in your family is smart enough to get an award :) That's really cool. Congrats to her, and congrats to you guys for sitting through it.

Well, you have to give her credit for being the FIRST one her teacher picked for the honor (despite its eventual commonality). Good job, Laura!

That makes me feel really sad for the 1/2 of the class who won't get diddly squat. Man, school is hard enough already!!!

Tough times.

But Laura rocks! She looks like a great student!

I was always in the "other" half I think. At least Laura looks happy with it. Her hair is so cute.

Oh...well, they have other awards, too. Every month one kid gets chosen to receive the "E for Effort" award, and there are a bunch of others. So no one really gets left out.

Shh . . . don't let Laura in on how the system really works! Save the cynicism for middle school . . . Good for you for supporting her and sitting through the assembly.

We loved your video of Lincoln playing the piano. Will wants to watch it for a third time. I think he's trying to find Noelle in the picture. Well, we are going to go watch the video again before I go deaf. (Will keeps yelling, "AGAIN!")
