Fletch Sketch continued...

For some reason I have not been able to publish posts here for months, so I started a new blog for us to store our memories. The new address is fletchsketch.blogspot.com.

Here ya go, D'Arce

My old college roommate, D'Arcy (the one with an MA from NYU who travels the world, is a free-lance writer, and paints on the side...in other words, the interesting one in whom I live vicariously...) just published a post on fashion, and how much she loves it as an artform. So I thought I might show her what I was wearing while reading her blog. (Note: I don't usually look quite so downcast. That was for dramatic effect.)

Notice the hole in my six-year old capris for which I have not yet been able to find a decent, cheap replacement:

And the hole in my $3.oo t-shirt from American Eagle (a steal!...though obviously not such a durable one...)

I had to link your post to mine. It's too hard to resist.

By the way, I know you have had your trials with your hair, but it looks amazing!! I wish mine would be so naturally full and beautiful!!! Lucky girl.

And I think Laura gets her dance skills from...you? Ah yes, those good old days in Young Hall...it seems like a lifetime, doesn't it?

You look down right glamorous compared to me.

You made me a little less self-conscious about what I'm wearing--a yellow polo shirt with a hole in the front pocket, cut-off sweat mustard colored sweats and fuschia flip-flops. I'm ready to go out and take on the world. On the bright side, Germans never match. They have a style all their own, so whatever I do is fine.

I kind of dressed up today because I had to be in public-- but that just means I didn't have holes in any of my clothing (other than the ones needed to, you know, actually put the clothing on). Yay for bargain clothing that we wear until it falls apart!

I absolutely love the look on your face... so so so funny! You and D'Arcy must have had a great time in school. I can imagine long nights of giggling.

I have really enjoyed reading your thought provoking comments over at D's blog. I especially like what you were getting at about propogating negativity by pointing it out. While it's true that there are still a lot of instances of inequality, for the most part, it's not as true as it was for our grandmothers or even mothers. I think the new feminism that is popping up all over is a more enlightened and less angry movement. Thanks for sharing your side...

You guys have a valid point, and I just posted a somewhat passionate (maybe interpreted as anger?) comment in response.....

which doesn't mean i didn't think about your comments and want to agree Jenn, i am just not that good of a woman yet.

Hopefully one day I will get there.

Don't sweat it, D'Arce. I'm not even close to being there yet. (I just like to pretend I am when I am commenting on YOUR blog! Ha!)
